I was extremely happy to see the first blog statistics report do so well. It quickly became one of the most commented-on posts to date. It received fantastic feedback from other bloggers around the community.
By the way, for all those that contributed to the last stat report, thank you so much! I look forward to more great tips and comparisons of numbers.
That’s why I’ve been just salivating at the chance to write this post. I am hopeful for it to follow-up on the success of the first one. The plan is to continue to do these reports on a monthly basis because it’s an amazing opportunity to engage and learn from others.
Though part of it is for the engagement, the main reasons for publishing statistic reports is to hold myself accountable and to document the journey.

@reversethecrush: 1091 followers (Up 121 | 12.47%)
@gbellddsc: 1171 followers (Up 67 | 5.7%)
Combined: 2262 followers (Up 188 | 9.06%)
@reversethecrush: 50 likes (Up 8 | 19.05%)
@eludethe9-to-5: 55 followers
Much of the activity during the month was spent on starting a Pinterest account. It seems like it could pay off in the long run. Using Pinterest doesn’t require much additional activity and seems as though it will be another fun way to engage. Though it has been a great way to find new bloggers and interesting content, I haven’t seen much of a traffic increase as a result of my efforts so far.
As for the other social media accounts, Twitter growth improved and even picked up the pace over June. In fact, follower growth for the @reversethecrush account doubled. Twitter growth has been organic and it continues to be one of the primary traffic drivers to the blog.

Alexa Rank: 9,606,807 (Improved by 6,539,389)
Comments in July: 37 (Down 5)
Posts in July: 10 (Down 3)
I had to push the envelope a bit on social media those last couple days to reach a new page view high. And although the views are only up by 35, consider that there was 3 less posts published than in June.
I always like to look at averages, so with that in mind, RTC averaged approximately 311 views per post in July. Factor in the views that older posts still bring in, and this observation is quite useless. However, it’s probably one I’ll continue to track to fulfill the bizarre fixation I have with trying to statisticize everything.
Anyways, moving on now, users, sessions, unique views, and bounce rate all improved marginally during the month.
The Alexa Rank, which is a rating system that continues to baffle me, spiked massively by over 6 million spots in July.
And lastly, comments dropped by 5, which can easily be explained by the number of posts published.
Including this stat post, there’s now a total of 144 posts published to reverse the crush, which is still 6 short of my goal for July, which was 150.
Traffic Sources
There was some good feedback in the first statistics report and it seemed as though traffic sources were a stat of interest. As you can see from above, the majority of my traffic comes from social. 94.29% of my social traffic was from Twitter last month. I need to diversify…
Then there’s direct traffic, followed by referrals, which come mostly from commenting and engaging with other blogs. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that commenting on other blogs is huge! And not just any blog for the hell of it. It’s about actually engaging with like-minded people and offering constructive thoughts on what they’re doing. I’ve met a few cool people this way and I’m looking forward to meeting more.
The last source I wanted I wanted to bring light to was the paid search. I spent a very small sum on Google Adwords to test it out. As you can see, it only drove 2 sessions during the month.
Email Subscriptions
Total: 14 (Up 2)
In following the same format as the first blog stats, I wanted to end with the email subscription results. Email subscriptions are up another 2 for the month to a total of 14. I know that seems like a low number if you’re a more well-known blogger with a sumo-me pop up email notifier, but straight-up, I’m grateful! Please subscribe by entering your email below.
Question: How were your blog statistics last month? Anything else exciting happen in July?
