Another month has passed, so it’s time to report how much blog income was earned in September 2021.
Despite a slower month for website traffic and a lethargic effort on my part, blog income remained steady during the month.
To put it bluntly, I am having a hard time keeping up with the blog lately. My three-posts-per week schedule combined with my job is beginning to catch up. Frankly, I’m having a hard time keeping up with e-mail inquiries and comments. All I can do is try my best.
Anyways, we are here to look at my blog income and website traffic in September 2021.
In this article, I will review my blog income, expenses, website traffic, and marketing strategies during the month.
Let’s dive in.
Blog Income Report September 2021 — Why I Share My Blog Income
Before I discuss my blog income, I want to briefly mention why I share my blog income.
Mainly, it’s because I am an analytical person who enjoys writing posts like this. The dividend income updates, savings reports, and blog reports are fun to write and analyze.
Through writing and analyzing these blog reports, I am hoping to learn how to improve.
Also, it’s nice to be able to share what I learn about blogging with the community. I have always found blog reports to be fascinating to read, so my hope is that other bloggers enjoy reading them as well.
Finally, it fits in with the tagline to this blog — financial independence through blogging and investing.
By creating income streams through blogging and investing, I am getting closer to becoming financially independent.

Although income and profits were down compared to last month, profits were up sharply compared to the same month last year.
Fortunately, this is the first month in 2021 I can actually compare to last year’s income.
So to be more precise, income was up by 317% compared to September 2020.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a link to include to the previous income report.
As I said, September 2020 was actually the first month I began receiving monthly income from blogging.
Prior to being accepting to Monumetric, I would only receive the odd payout from Google Adsense.
But with Monumetric, I get paid monthly. Anyways, I earned $26.18 in blog income in September 2020. This year, I earned $109.09 in total. I am quite happy with that progress.

Blog Expenses Breakdown
I spent $62.52 on blogging in September 2021.
To be clear, I could easily lower my blogging expenses if I wanted.
Blogging really isn’t that expensive of a hobby.
If I wanted to, I could stop paying for Canva Pro and Ubersuggest. However, they are valuable services that help me market the blog. In the long run, putting money into them should result in earning more money.
So, that’s why I continue to spend a good portion of my blog income.
Since I don’t rely on blog income to pay for expenses, I can invest to improve the blog.
Overall, my expenses were consistent in September 2021.
I only incurred the same three expenses as I have the last few months: Canva Pro, Ubersuggest, and web hosting costs.
This month it cost $62.52 for those three services.
The good news is that I remained profitable.
As such, my bank account for my blog has continued to grow. I have some money in there waiting for a larger purchase at some point. Once I have the time to analyze my options, I will spend it.
Here is a more detailed look at my blog expenses:
Blog Expenses Breakdown
Ubersuggest — $29.00
Canva Pro — $19.20
Bluehost Webhosting — $14.32
Total — $62.52
Website Traffic In September 2021
For the first time this year, page views fell below 10,000 in a single month.
In total, the blog received 9,855 page views in September 2021.
Although it was the lowest month of the year, page views were still up by 5.29% over the same month last year.
Furthermore, it was the second month in a row where I haven’t been able to put in as much effort.
I have been busier at work lately. It has resulted in less energy for answering emails and comments as quickly as I would like to.
To keep up with my posting schedule, I try to write two posts per day off.
Anyways, website traffic began to pick up at the end of the month.
On the plus side, organic traffic was up 456% compared to the same month last year.
If I work as hard on marketing content as I used to before receiving organic traffic, I should be able to see to new record months for page views this fall.
Website Marketing Strategies — How Traffic Was Generated
As per usual in 2021, the majority of my website traffic was generated from organic search in September 2021.
In total, 53.4% of my traffic was from organic search during the month. This is up by nearly 3% compared to August.
This is directly attributed to how much time I have spent marketing the blog lately.
Frankly, I did not spend enough time marketing the blog on social media early in the month.
Nevertheless, social media still accounted for 21% of total website traffic in September.
As always, Twitter was the primary traffic driver, as it accounts for more than 60% of total social media traffic.

Goals For October 2021
Honestly, my work schedule and my blog post schedule are catching up to me.
I wish I could put in maximum effort into the blog and put all my effort into growing it. However, I simply can not manage that at this time. My job requires the majority of my time right now.
As such, my main goal is just to maintain my posting schedule of three posts per week. I’m still holding on to that goal for now.
To achieve it, I aim to write two posts per day off work.
But if earning more money from working more becomes more permanent, I will have to adjust.
I will still continue to blog. My focus will just shift mostly to investing because that’s what I will be doing with the extra money.
Other than maintaining my schedule, I want to be more active on Twitter and Facebook than I was in September 2021.
Near the end of the month, I tested out being more active on Twitter to see if it would affect income. It definitely did.
So, I just want to be more active this month and aim to hit certain traffic marks each day.
Blog Income Report September 2021 — Final Thoughts
In summary, I earned $109.09 from blogging in September 2021.
After blog expenses, a net income of $46.57 was earned.
So, it wasn’t exactly a huge month for profit.
But on the bright side, Monumetric display ad income increased by 10.58% over the prior month.
Furthermore, total blog income was up by 317% compared to September 2020.
It would be fantastic if that same rate of year-over-year growth can be achieved again.
As for financial independence through blogging and investing, my total passive income for the month was $209.70. I earned $100.61 in dividends and $109.09 from blogging.
It’s not enough to retire yet, but it’s incredible to be able to earn over $200 doing things I enjoy.
Thank you for reading, following, subscribing, or commenting. I appreciate it.
